Why choose us?

Simple. We strive to be the best-in-class kayak guiding company in Alaska.

Heres how

  • We only hire experienced guides

Surprisingly, this makes us very different

It may seem like a no-brainer, but you'd be surprised at how many "professional" kayak guides in Alaska sat in a kayak for literally the first time a month before they guide you on your trip. We don't think that you can train a cold-water kayak guide in Alaska over the course of a few days, or even weeks. There are simply too many scenarious to train for, and there is no quick substitute for time spent with paddles in the water.

We pay our guides better than other companies, and in return, we expect that they come into their career with us having already attained a high level of expertise in sea kayaking.

  • We use the best gear

No rubber boots or tattered lifejackets here

The right gear makes a huge difference. We cycle new boats into our fleet every season, and our boards keep getting better and lighter as the technology that builds them rapidly improves.

We use dry suits where we need to, and we provide clients with high quality paddling boots, gloves, and (if cold enough), pogies.

You'll never see our groups shivering on the beach in borrowed rubber boots.

  • We provide extensive, high-level training to our staff

    Practice makes professionals

In addition to the skills our guides must have when they walk through our door for the first time, we provide extensive, ongoing skills training for our staff.

At the beginning of each season, we bring in an extremely skillful independent ACA level IV certified instructor to hone the paddling — and most importantly - rescue skills of our guides. This is a long, cold, and wet process for our guides, but it gives us extreme confidence in the abilities of our guides as leaders. In fact, this process is so thorough that it counts as an ACA certification for our guides when they complete the training.

  • Locally owned and operated

    Made in Alaska

We love this town. Both owners of the company have lived and explored in Seward for most of their lives, and many of our staff grew up in Seward as well. This gives us an extensive level of understanding of the area.

  • We create original experiences

The status quo is stagnant woe

We're creators. We pride ourselves in separating from the pack. Sure we run some of the classic trips in Seward that all of the companies run — they are great trips! However, we're always working on new, innovate ways to push the boundaries of what is possible in Seward — just look at our Aialik Bay Paddleboarding trip, a Liquid Adventures orginal that is certainly once-in-a-lifetime.

  • Backcountry gourmet meals

    Delicious food made from scratch

We pride ourselves in the quality of our recipes and freshness of our food.

We provide vegetarian options for everything we serve, and we make everything from scratch, in-house, with love. Many of our recipes have been with the company for over a decade, slowly being refined and tuned to provide a well-earned savory break from paddling.

  • Hand crafted attention to detail

We do everything we can with our own two hands

As a very small business, we are directly involved in every aspect of your trip. We hand make our lunches and overnight food from scratch. This website? One of the owners spent months building it. Our jetboats? We've learned how to maintain and repair them ourselves. Crafting new adventures and building the logistics to make them accesible and safe? We do that ourselves, too.

Being involved in every aspect of our business allows us to keep a pulse on what is happening during each part of your experience with us, and we feel that this involvement translates to an incredible, thoroughly hand-crafted experience for you and your group.
